Sherwood
11th Century set historical drama reinvents the legend of Robin Hood as a Saxon insurgent in post-regime change England, based on the acclaimed novel by Parke Godwin.
After the Battle of Hastings, Saxon Thane Robin Aelredson of Denby stands up against injustice under the iron fist rule of his new King William the Conqueror. Forced from his home by the occupying Norman invaders, Robin takes refuge in Sherwood forest with a band of loyal villagers, outlawed and risking death at the hands of war veteran Ralf FitzGerald, the dangerous and enigmatic Sheriff of Nottingham. But eventually, Saxons and Normans must settle their differences and unite to quash a coup attempt by Earl Waltheof, who plans to overthrow the King and throw the country into turmoil once more.
Screenplay adaptation by James Magrane and Martyn Hobbs.
Producer/Director: Tom Waller
